| 17 July | Beyond the Roseville Bridge/Garigal National Park | Contact: Tony Carr (Paddle NSW) Mobile: 0417.502.056 Email: tonycarr@ozemail.com.au |
Paddle NSW Recreational Paddle Co-ordinator Tony Carr leads this full day kayak on Sydney’s Middle Harbour. We’ll launch at Tunks Park in Northbridge and avoid all the nonsense at Spit Bridge. You’ll see two historic wrecks at Salt Pan Creek, then we’ll take a break at exquisite Flat Rock Beach. Under the Roseville Bridge and into the Park, where it’s peaceful and there’s a beaut, sandy strip surrounded by trees where we’ll stop for lunch. Full day paddle with lots of highlights. Grade Medium. Full details on the Paddle NSW web site |

| 31 July - 1 August | Shoalhaven River: Tallowa Dam to Coolendell |
Contact: Tracy Hudson |
This is a good section of river for beginners and intermediate whitewater paddlers. The river is characterized by pools and many races, some of which are long and wide, with grade 2 rapids to be negotiated – one just down from the dam and the other when approaching Coolendell. The countryside starts with the bluffs of the Shoalhaven Gorge continuing for the first 8km and then gradually giving way to more open, heavily wooded hilly country. Details of meeting times, car shuttles, camping spot, etc. will be finalized when numbers are known. Please contact the trip leaders to let us know you are coming. |
